Man in 50s Dies After Violent Incident in SW16 Home

Police rushed to a disturbance on Fernwood Avenue, SW16, just after 2.25pm on Friday, 5 April. They found a man in his 50s unresponsive inside the property.

The victim was rushed to hospital but sadly died the following day. Officers believe they know who he is but are still working to inform his family.

38-Year-Old Arrested and Later Bailed

A 38-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. He has since been released on bail while inquiries continue.

Police Launch Urgent Investigation

An active crime scene remains at the address as officers launch a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.

DCI Laura Nelson, Specialist Crime, said: “I know that local people will be shocked and upset by this incident. I share their concerns and assure them that my colleagues and I are doing all we can to establish what led to this tragic death.

“At this early stage, I must keep an open mind. A post-mortem will be carried out in due course, and this, along with other enquiries, will help us find out exactly what happened.”
