Hailsham Rubbish Crisis: New Drop-Off Point Opens for Bagged Household Waste

Local residents hit by missed bin collections can now dump their bagged household rubbish at a new trial site. A bin lorry and staff will be on hand to take your black bin bags – no garden waste, electricals, or bulky items allowed.

Where and When to Dump Your Rubbish

  • Location: Vicarage Lane Car Park, Hailsham Leisure Centre
  • Post Code: BN27 2AX
  • Date: 25th May 2022
  • Time: 8am to 2pm

Make sure to use the bins provided. Under no circumstances should anyone toss rubbish directly into the bin lorry. This facility will only be open while the bin lorry is present.

Warning: Stick to the Rules or Face the Consequences

Leaving rubbish outside the stated times or tipping anything other than bagged household waste will be treated as fly-tipping. Offenders risk fixed penalty notices or criminal prosecution.

This initial service targets the southern half of the district, where rubbish collections have been totally disrupted. Residents are urged to use it responsibly to keep their community clean.
