Frenzied Knife Assault on Vulnerable Grandfather
David Oliver was bedridden and immobile after a stroke in 2016. On the tragic day, his grandson Ben launched a savage attack in his bedroom using a kitchen knife.
Ben, then 23, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and has been held in custody ever since.
Investigator’s Somber Reflection
“This has been a tragic case that has left a family fractured,” said Detective Chief Inspector Kate Kieran, who led the homicide probe. “Today, my thoughts are with them.”
