Woman Hurt After High-Speed Crash Following Police Chase in Margate
Kent Police are hunting witnesses after a serious smash in Garlinge, near Margate. Just after 9.30am on Friday 24 May 2024, a black Vauxhall Astra collided with a white Toyota Aygo at the busy junction of Garlinge High Street and Shottendane Road.
Three Women Hospitalised – Two in London in Serious Condition
Emergency crews rushed to the scene. Two women inside the Toyota were flown to a London hospital, where they remain in serious but stable condition. A third female passenger was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
23-Year-Old Man Arrested Over Dangerous Driving
A 23-year-old man, thought to have been in the Vauxhall, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He remains in police custody and was also treated at a nearby hospital.
Police Appeal for Dashcam Footage and Information
Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is working to piece together what caused the crash. They want anyone who witnessed the smash or has dashcam footage to get in touch urgently.

Chase Linked to Police Pursuit – Investigation Under Way
Before the crash, the Vauxhall was caught up in a police pursuit. A mandatory referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct as part of the probe.
