Katie Price Pleads Guilty to Drink-Driving After Sussex Crash
Katie Price has admitted to drink-driving, driving while disqualified, and driving without insurance following a collision near her Sussex home. The former glamour model appeared at Crawley Magistrates’ Court today over Tuesday’s crash on the B2135 near Partridge Green.
Charged and Caught: Cocaine Swab Test Revealed, But Drug-Driving Charge Dropped
Price, 43, faced charges including driving while unfit due to alcohol, driving without third-party insurance, and driving while disqualified. Prosecutor Debbie Jones revealed a swab test came back positive for cocaine, but the drug-driving charge was dropped after Price pleaded guilty to drink-driving.
Defence Cites Difficult Times Amid Bankruptcy and Repossession Fears
“She has had a lot of personal problems recently. Currently she is in the process of bankruptcy proceedings, so her house may be repossessed. Quite a lot going on in this lady’s life, a really difficult period,” said defence lawyer Joe Harrington.
Harrington described the incident as a “one-off” and explained Price had been lonely at home and went out to see a friend.
Sentencing Delayed to Allow Rehab, Driving Ban in Place
Price will be sentenced on 15th December, giving her time to attend rehab and meet with probation services. She is currently banned from driving.
