Nottingham Man Jailed for Hoarding and Sharing Thousands of Child Abuse Images
Nottingham, 16 August 2024 – Keah Gibbs, 25, from Sherwood, Nottingham, has been slapped with a hefty three-year prison sentence. He pleaded guilty to creating and distributing thousands of indecent images of children.
Shocking Discovery: Over 9,000 Images Found
Police uncovered a vile stash of more than 9,000 indecent images on Gibbs’ computer during their investigation. These included 1,733 Category A images—the most severe and disturbing offences. Authorities also seized 2,474 Category B and 5,085 Category C images.
Gibbs bizarrely claimed he used these images on social media to “identify individuals with a sexual interest in children,” but the courts saw through this excuse.
Multiple Offences Over Several Years
Between December 2019 and October 2020, Gibbs admitted to making indecent images on three counts. He also confessed to possessing 427 prohibited images and seven extreme pornographic images during that same period.
More recently, from July 2023 to January 2024, Gibbs distributed 25 indecent photographs of children—including seven Category A images.
Harsh Punishment and Warnings from Police
Apart from his jail term, Gibbs will face a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and must sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.
Detective Sergeant Adam Taylor of Nottinghamshire Police said: “We take these crimes very seriously and will do everything to protect vulnerable youngsters. This case is a warning – if you engage in this disgusting activity, you will be caught and punished.”
Authorities urge the public to stay alert and report any suspicious online behaviour to police to help safeguard children from exploitation.
