False Alarm in Lenham Sparks Big Police Response
Kent Police rushed to Lenham at 6.40pm on Thursday, June 16, after a reported sexual assault. They sent officers, sniffer dogs, and even a police helicopter to the scene.
But it turned out to be a hoax.

An inquiry is now ongoing to find out who made the false report and why.

Making hoax calls to emergency services puts those in real danger at risk by diverting vital resources,” said Inspector Steve Kent of Maidstone Community Safety Unit.
“It’s a serious offence that can land you in court. All calls to our control room are recorded and used as evidence.”
