KS Energy UK recalls lithium-ion batteries over fire risks

Fire hazard sparks urgent recall

KS Energy UK has launched an immediate recall of its KS-SB210 Lithium-ion battery seat base compact series. The black battery, designed to sit under the front driver’s seat of commercial vehicles, poses a serious fire risk due to a potential short circuit in one of its components.

Fails safety regulations

The recall comes as the product fails to meet the General Product Safety Regulations 2005. KS Energy UK has swiftly contacted affected customers and pulled the battery from the market to prevent any accidents.

How to stay safe now

  • Access the battery controls via the Phone app.
  • Disable the charging function immediately in the control menu.
  • Allow the battery to fully discharge by using all onboard appliances until empty.
  • Do not recharge or move the vehicle until discharge is complete.

Users continuing to use their motorhomes or vehicles must keep the battery completely discharged via the app until a replacement is installed.

Replacement or refund on offer

KS Energy UK is offering affected customers either a free replacement battery or a full refund. The company stresses the importance of following these safety instructions without delay and encourages anyone with concerns to contact them directly for support.

Safety remains KS Energy UK’s top priority as they move quickly to fix this dangerous fault.
