Margate Drug Dealers Locked Up After Major Cocaine Bust
Tebin Kadir and Darren Duffy have been slammed with hefty jail terms after a major crackdown on Class A drug dealing in Thanet. The duo were hauled in during a dawn raid on 14 June 2019, part of a tough investigation by Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate detectives.
Kingpin Kadir Gets 11 Years for Massive Cocaine Supply
Kadir, 44, of St Mildred’s Road, Margate, was handed an 11-year sentence after admitting multiple charges for drug supply and criminal property possession. Officers found cocaine worth up to £16,500 hidden in his Mercedes and at his home. The dealer regularly moved over 1kg per deal, making him a key player in the operation. Cash and steroids were also seized.
Sidekick Duffy Caught with Encrypted Phone and More Drugs
Duffy, 50, from Dumpton Park Drive, Ramsgate, was caught out after his fingerprints were found on the cocaine. Investigators discovered incriminating texts between him and Kadir. More cocaine was stashed inside Duffy’s fridge along with an illegal EncroChat phone. He pleaded guilty and was jailed for five years and three months.
Strong Message from the Courts
Both men were sentenced at Southwark Crown Court on 27 October 2023.
“Criminals who supply class A drugs care little for the damage it causes… That is why we will forever target the likes of Tebin Kadir, Darren Duffy and others who seek to benefit from the misery of others,” said Detective Sergeant Jon Saxby.
“These lengthy prison sentences show just how serious this offending is and should send a strong message to others thinking they can flout the law without consequences.”
