Blackmore engaged in sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl when he was 19. At the same time, he sent explicit messages, photos, and videos to a 16-year-old victim. Courageously, the 16-year-old came forward in 2022, sparking Blackmore’s arrest. Police later uncovered indecent images of her on his devices.
Conviction and Harsh Sentence
In July 2025, Blackmore was found guilty of two counts of sexual activity with a child. He was cleared of rape and related charges. On 22 September, he was jailed and slapped with a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order restricting his online and offline actions to protect youngsters.
Police Praise Victims’ Bravery
“This was a difficult case, but thanks to the courage of the victims we were able to secure a conviction,” said Detective Constable Owen Watkins, who led the investigation. “Blackmore poses no risk to the wider public while in prison, and his behaviour will continue to be monitored on release.”
Sussex Police urge anyone concerned about child sexual abuse in West Sussex to report it online, call 101, or dial 999 in an emergency.
