A man has been arrested after a helicopter flying over Dartford was targeted with a laser pen.
Just after midnight on Sunday, 26 March 2023, the National Police Air Service crew spotted a laser beam aimed straight at their chopper.
Rapid Police Response
Officers were deployed immediately to the scene. They arrested a suspect and confiscated a laser pen used in the attack.
Man Charged Over Dangerous Laser Incident
Terry Miller, 62, from St Johns Road, Dartford, has been charged with directing a laser beam towards a helicopter. Police say the laser could have dazzled or distracted the pilot, putting lives at risk.
Miller has been bailed and is due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 3 May.
