Man Charged After Shocking Eltham Stabbing
A 41-year-old man has been charged with grievous bodily harm following a stabbing near Parish Park, Eltham. The violent attack unfolded just after 8pm on April 20 on Restons Crescent, sparking a rapid response from police and paramedics.
Victim Rushed to Hospital
Emergency crews from the London Ambulance Service arrived to find a man in his 50s with stab wounds. He was quickly taken to hospital, where doctors confirmed his injuries were serious but not life-threatening.
Suspect Arrested and Charged
Christopher McGill, 41, of no fixed address, was arrested the next day on suspicion of attempted murder. On April 22, he was formally charged with grievous bodily harm (GBH). McGill remains in custody ahead of his court appearance at woolwich-crown-court" title="Woolwich Crown Court" target="_blank">Woolwich Crown Court on May 21.
Police Praise Quick Response
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “This follows an investigation by officers from Bexley – South East Command. Police and emergency services responded swiftly to a report of a stabbing near Restons Crescent.”
The victim continues to recover after receiving urgent hospital care.
