A 33-year-old man has been charged with murder after being arrested at the Notting Hill Carnival. Kamar Williams, from the Isle of Dogs, is wanted over the fatal stabbing of 53-year-old Derek Thomas in Stoke Newington.

Williams was snapped up on Monday, August 26, following a police appeal for information on his whereabouts. The next day, he was charged with murder and possession of a knife. He is due to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, August 28.
