Burglar Busted After Jewellery and Gadgets Stolen in Dover

A Dover burglar has been charged following a string of thefts involving jewellery and expensive electronics.

Kent Police launched an investigation after a laptop, tablet, mobile phone, jewellery, and other valuables were stolen from a Dour Street home on 30 December 2019.

Just days later, on 8 January 2020, a resident on Johannesburg Road reported a tablet, three watches, and more jewellery missing from her house.

Kevin Chapman Caught and Charged

Kevin Chapman, 36, was arrested in Hastings, East Sussex, on 7 February 2020 over these burglaries. Chapman, from Carnoustie Close in St Leonards-on-Sea, now faces two counts of burglary.

He has also been charged with making off without payment from hotels in Dover (7 January 2020) and Canterbury (9 January 2020).

Chapman appeared at Medway Magistrates Court on 17 February and was remanded in custody. His next court date is set for 16 March 2020.
