Michal Morawski, 32, sparked a fire at a property on Glover Close, Fraserburgh at 3.20am on Thursday, 27 June 2023. A 29-year-old woman was inside the building when Morawski deliberately set it ablaze, putting her life in serious danger.

Guilty plea seals Morawski’s fate

On Thursday, 13 June 2024, Morawski admitted wilful fire-raising and endangering life at Edinburgh’s High Court. His reckless actions could have had catastrophic consequences, the court heard.

Police vow justice and victim support

“This was a hugely distressing ordeal for the victim, who could have lost her life as a result,” said Detective Sergeant Richard Cooper of Fraserburgh CID. “We are determined to bring violent offenders like Morawski to justice and support those affected.”
