Man Charged with Attempted Murder in Shocking Bournemouth Stabbings

Two Serious Stabbing Attacks Rock Bournemouth

A 37-year-old Bournemouth man has been charged after two brutal stabbing incidents on Thursday, 18 February 2021. Dorset Police were first called at 8.05pm to Maxwell Road, where a woman in her 40s suffered multiple stab wounds. She was rushed to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

A teenage girl was also hurt in the same incident, treated for a neck injury and taken to hospital.

Second Victim Attacked Just Hours Later

Later that night, at 11.59pm, police responded to a second stabbing on Vale Road. A woman in her 30s was located with a stab wound to her neck. She is currently in hospital, described as stable.

Grisly Charge Sheet Hits Bournemouth Man

The accused man faces a slew of severe charges, including two counts of attempted murder, two counts of false imprisonment, grievous bodily harm with intent, rape, and sexual assault by penetration. He is set to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 22 February 2021.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

Following a detailed investigation, the Crown Prosecution Service has authorised these charges,” said Detective Inspector Wayne Seymour of the Major Crime Investigation Team.

“Specially-trained officers continue to support the victims. Enquiries remain ongoing. We urge anyone near Maxwell Road or Vale Road at the times of the attacks, or drivers who may have dashcam footage, to come forward.”

Chief Inspector Alan Setchell added: “Local officers will be patrolling the area and are available to speak to anyone concerned by these incidents.”
