Drug Dealer Caught Red-Handed in Ellesmere Port
A 27-year-old man from Ellesmere Port has been locked up for four years after police unearthed a stash of cocaine during a drugs raid.
MacCauley Smith Busted with Class A Drugs
MacCauley Smith, 27, of Raby Court 1, pleaded guilty at Chester Crown Court to possession with intent to supply class A drugs—cocaine.
On 10 November, officers from the Ellesmere Port Proactive Team raided a property on Raby Street. Smith was the sole occupant when police arrived.
Drugs Hidden Under the Carpet
During the search, cops found four plastic wraps of white powder on the living room coffee table. Smith then admitted to more drugs hidden in a rolled-up carpet in the bedroom.
Under that carpet, officers seized a knotted plastic bag containing 43 smaller bags filled with white powder—confirmed as cocaine.
Experts valued the haul between £1,590 and £3,750, intended for onward supply.
Police Warn: Drug Crime Will Not Be Tolerated
“I welcome this sentence handed to Smith and hope it reminds all drug dealers that Ellesmere Port won’t tolerate illegal substances,” said Detective Constable Welling of the Ellesmere Port Proactive Team.
“The harm caused by drugs in our communities is well known. We’re committed to holding those responsible accountable, and our fight against drug production and supply continues.”
“If you know of drug activity, come forward. We’ll take it from there.”
