Knife and Drugs Offender Jailed After M1 Service Station Arrest
Adeel Hussain, 19, from Almond Street, Derby, has been locked up for two years after police caught him with a knife and Class A drugs at a busy M1 service station.
Wrong-Way Driver Sparks Police Stop
Officers from the roads policing unit spotted a car driving the wrong way around the one-way system at Tibshelf services back in April. Hussain, then 18, was a passenger in the vehicle. A search revealed heroin, cannabis, and a knife.
Guilty Plea Seals Two-Year Sentence
Hussain was charged with possession of a knife in public, heroin with intent to supply, and cannabis possession. He pleaded guilty to all counts at Derby Crown Court on 6 May and was sentenced to two years in prison.
Police Crack Down on Knife Crime
The arrest came during Operation Sceptre, a nationwide blitz against knife crime. Derbyshire police continue their fight all year via Project Zao, targeting serious violence and weapons.
