Life Sentence for Knife Rampage Killer in Bodmin Nightclub Murder
Jake Hill, 25, has been locked up for life after stabbing dead rugby player Michael Riddiough-Allen outside the Eclipse nightclub in Bodmin, Cornwall. The rugby star, 32, was trying to stop Hill’s terrifying knife attack before being fatally stabbed in the stomach.
20-Second Knife Frenzy Leaves Multiple Victims
Last April, Hill went on a violent rampage, attacking five people in a brutal 20-second stabbing spree with a serrated hunting knife. Alongside Michael, victims Liam Phillips, Ryan Burger, Ryan Parsons, Rhiannon Tompsett, and Stefan Williams all suffered knife wounds.
Liam Phillips described the horror, saying he feared he was dying after being stabbed in the abdomen. The trauma from that night still haunts him.
“Gentle Giant” Rugby Star Remembered
Michael’s sister, Becky Dustan, called him a “gentle giant.” His family revealed the haunting image of his final moments continues to torment them. Speaking after the verdict, they thanked the justice system but stressed this was no victory.
“There are no winners here,” said Mrs Justice Cutts during sentencing, pointing to Hill’s shocking lack of remorse and the devastating loss felt by all.
Investigation Praised but Knife Crime Crisis Highlighted
Detective Inspector Rosson applauded the investigation team and thanked Michael’s family and surviving victims for their support. He hopes the case’s closure will bring some comfort.

Additional Sentence for Perverting Justice
Meanwhile, 23-year-old 123 Powell received 15 months behind bars for perverting the course of justice related to the case.
