Man Jailed for 17 Years Over Shocking Rape and Assaults Filmed on Phone

A 50-year-old man from Morden has been locked up for 17 years after admitting to 24 counts of rape and sexual assault at Kingston Crown Court on 6 July.

Glynn Ellison’s Sick Crimes Exposed

Glynn Ellison, of Aragon Road, Morden, was initially charged with 25 counts including rape, sexual assault by penetration, and sexual assault by touching back in November 2016. After originally pleading not guilty, he U-turned and pleaded guilty to:

  • 6 counts of rape
  • 13 counts of sexual assault by penetration
  • 5 counts of sexual assault by touching

The abuses happened between 2010 and 2011. Ellison exploited a victim while she was asleep or unconscious – then recorded the vile acts on his phone.

Filmed Abuse Uploaded Online

By late 2011, Ellison had started uploading the horrific videos onto pornographic websites. It wasn’t until 2015 that a family member discovered the footage online and contacted the victim, who was unaware of what had happened due to being unconscious during the attacks.

Failed Escape, Failed Bail

Ellison fought the charges at first, pleading not guilty in January 2017. Police even uncovered plans he made to flee to Northern Cyprus, alongside suspicious large bank withdrawals. He was arrested but released on bail—with conditions.

He breached curfew in March 2017 and skipped court on 3 April—the first trial day—prompting a bench warrant. Ellison was arrested the same day. On 11 April, he tried to avoid court again with a supposed doctor’s note, but the judge wasn’t convinced. Surrey Police reissued a bench warrant and took him into custody.

Justice for the Victim

Detective Constable Lyndsay Vallis said: “I hope that the victim can somehow find the strength to get on with the rest of her life knowing that justice has been served. Not only did Ellison commit these horrifying attacks on his victim, but he took advantage of her when she was unconscious so he could film these deplorable acts on his phone and put the footage all over the internet. I cannot begin to imagine how this would have made her feel and I would like to commend her for the sheer bravery she has shown throughout the court process.”

Surrey Police urge anyone affected by sexual assault or abuse to come forward. Specialist officers are waiting to handle all reports sensitively and thoroughly.
