Paedophile Busted in Online Sting, Jailed for Six Years
Keith Jackson, 64, thought he was chatting with a child online and had arranged to meet up in Spenborough with sinister intentions. The shock? He was actually talking to a covert officer from the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit (ROCU).
Internet Predator Snared by Undercover Cop
Jackson, from Earlsheaton, Dewsbury, faced Leeds Crown Court on Tuesday (11/10). He pleaded guilty to three offences committed between 10 June and 19 July 2022, including attempting to sexually communicate with a child and trying to arrange a child sex offence.
Judge Slams Jackson, Sends Strong Message
The judge handed down a six-year jail sentence, condemning Jackson’s vile actions. Detective Chief Inspector Andrew Howard from Yorkshire and Humber ROCU said:
“Jackson had a clear sexual interest in children. People like him make the internet a dangerous place for children and I am pleased that his sentence reflects the severity of his actions. I hope the sentence also acts as a deterrent to anyone else thinking of using the internet for such wicked intentions.”
This conviction sends a stark warning to online predators — the law is watching, and justice will strike hard.
