Man Jailed for Knife Robberies Just One Hour Apart in Luton
A 32-year-old man has been locked up for four years after threatening two men with a knife in Luton within the space of one hour on the same night.
Dylan Aimable-Brown’s Knife Rampage
Dylan Aimable-Brown, from Lavender Hill, Milton Keynes, pleaded guilty to robbery, attempted robbery, and two counts of carrying a bladed article. He was sentenced at Luton Crown Court on Friday, 26 March.
Just after midnight on 6 February 2019, Aimable-Brown targeted a man on Dallow Road near Ashburnham Road junction. Wielding a knife, he demanded the contents of the victim’s pockets. The man handed over a debit card before Aimable-Brown fled the scene.
Less than an hour later, at Luton train station’s taxi rank, Aimable-Brown struck again. He threatened another man with his knife, forcing him toward a cashpoint. Luckily, a station worker came outside, sending the attacker running empty-handed.
Police Track and Arrest Suspect
CCTV footage quickly identified Aimable-Brown, leading to his arrest shortly after the incidents.
“Both victims have spoken of the fear they experienced when being threatened by Aimable-Brown at knifepoint,” said Detective Constable Oliver Fitton of Bedfordshire Police. “They both thought they would be stabbed and have understandably suffered emotional distress as a result. We will never tolerate knife crime on our streets, and seeing Aimable-Brown locked up will hopefully help both victims recover from their ordeal.”
Sentencing Details
- Four years for robbery
- Four years for attempted robbery
- One year each for two counts of possession of a bladed article
All sentences will run concurrently, keeping Aimable-Brown behind bars for four years.
