Birmingham Man Busted in Police Sting with £12,000 Cannabis Haul
A Birmingham man has been locked up for over two years after a routine police stop led to a major drug find and a violent assault charge.
Police Snag Xiao Long Lin in Routine Car Stop
In May, West Midlands Police were patrolling Birmingham’s Southside when they pulled over a car. Among the passengers was 28-year-old Xiao Long Lin, already wanted for a vicious assault from the previous September.
Lin was arrested on the spot, triggering a search of his Essex Street home.

Officers found two suitcases stuffed with cannabis, worth more than £12,000. Lin was immediately charged with possession with intent to supply a Class B drug.
Violent Assault Lands Lin Behind Bars
The assault relates to an attack where Lin allegedly bashed a man with a metal pole outside a Birmingham apartment block in September last year.
“Lin pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and the drug charges,”
said the court. He was sentenced to two years and three months in prison.
Lin also received a restraining order banning him from contacting his victim.
