Hackney Groomer Jailed for 18 Years After Sick Abuse of Young Girl
A vile predator in Hackney has been locked up for 18 years after grooming and sexually abusing a vulnerable young girl. Dwayne Aitken, 43, from Brooke Road, was found guilty following a tough police probe and brave victim testimony.
Swift Police Action Brings Justice
The Met’s Central East Command swung into action after the victim, now 17, reported the abuse. Detective Constable Rob Johnston, lead investigator, praised the survivor’s courage and made clear the severity of Aitken’s crimes. “Aitken carried out horrific sexual abuse on a young girl,” DC Johnston said. “The evidence left no doubt over his guilt.”
Predator Targeted Vulnerable Girl
- Aitken deliberately preyed on his victim, exploiting her vulnerability.
- When the girl’s friends confronted him about her age, he ignored warnings and continued the abuse.
Long Road to Conviction
The investigation began in January 2020 after the girl’s school raised the alarm. Following his arrest, Aitken was charged in September 2022. The trial ended with a conviction on multiple counts, a clear message that sex offenders will be hunted down and punished.
Detective Johnston reassured the public: “We remain committed to protecting vulnerable people and bringing offenders like Aitken to justice.”
