A 44-year-old man from Sheffield has been slapped with a hefty six-and-a-half-year prison sentence after cops found drugs stashed in his car stereo.
Police Spot Known Vehicle on Rustlings Road
Officers on patrol in Nethergreen’s Rustlings Road spotted a blue Audi known to them on June 21, 2022. They swiftly pulled it over for a stop and search.
Drugs Hidden Behind Loose Stereo Panel
The driver, Zahid Rehman, was caught with two iPhones. Spotting the car stereo’s loose sides, officers searched inside and uncovered a freezer bag packed with multiple smaller bags filled with white powder.
Cash and Phones Seized – Text Messages Seal the Deal
“When we got Rehman into custody, he was subjected to a more thorough search, and a large amount of cash and another mobile phone were seized,” confirmed PC Ross Thorndyke.
Forensic analysis of the phones revealed Rehman’s role in dealing drugs.
