Man Utd Star Greenwood Faces Court Over Shocking Charges
21-Year-Old Player Charged with Attempted Rape and Assault
Mason Greenwood, the 21-year-old Manchester United forward, appeared in court on Monday 17 October. He faces serious charges including attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour, and assault — all linked to the same complainant.
Family Watch as Greenwood Faces the Judge
Greenwood showed up in a grey sweatshirt and jogging bottoms. He confirmed his name, date of birth, and address before the court. Notably, family members sat in the public gallery, watching as he glanced their way before two officers escorted him back down.
Next Court Date and Bail Breach
Greenwood is set to return to Manchester Crown Court on 21 November. He was first detained back in January and granted bail. However, on 15 October, he allegedly broke those bail conditions, prompting prosecutors to formally charge him.
Football Career on Ice
Since his arrest, Greenwood hasn’t played a single professional match. Manchester United have suspended him “pending the outcome of the judicial process,” leaving his future at the club in serious doubt.
