Medway Dealer Busted by Texts on Phone – Locked Up for Nearly Five Years!
Drug Dealer Caught Cold in Strood
Alfie Mulholland, 26, was slammed with a hefty jail term after messages found on his mobile phone exposed his drug dealing. The Sealand Drive man was caught during a targeted police raid in Strood back in February 2019.
Phone Packed with Drug Chats
Officers swooped on Mulholland’s bedroom at 7.20am on February 12. They seized a phone from his pocket, uncovering dozens of texts arranging deals for crack cocaine and heroin across Medway.
He even boasted his stash was “10/10” and “best in town.”
Guilty Plea Lands Long Sentence
Mulholland pled guilty to being involved in supplying crack and heroin, plus criminal damage after wrecking his police cell, and a breach of a suspended sentence. Maidstone Crown Court didn’t hold back, jailing him for four years and eight months on May 16, 2019.
Police Take Strong Stand
“Although we did not find Mulholland in direct possession of class A substances, we were able to uncover clear evidence of his offending by checking his mobile phone records,” said Detective Constable Robin Hemsley.
“There is no place in the Medway towns for people who seek to profit from the misery caused by substance abuse. We will always use the full remit of our powers to identify, target and prosecute offenders.”
Mulholland has been held on remand since his arrest on April 8. The police crackdown sends a stark warning to other dealers in the region.
