Drug-Driver Banned for Three Years After Police Sniff Out Cannabis
A 29-year-old man caught driving under the influence in Trowbridge has been slammed with a three-year driving ban.
Sniffer Police Catch Driver Red-Handed on Stallard Street
Last October, officers on patrol spotted a Nissan Note on Stallard Street. The driver, Daniel Palmer from Melksham, gave off a strong whiff of cannabis. A roadside drugs wipe confirmed the suspicion – Palmer tested positive for cannabis.
More Drugs Found in Custody, Guilty Plea Follows
When taken into custody, cops found a small stash of amphetamine on Palmer. He faced Swindon Magistrates’ Court on March 29 and admitted to drug driving and possession of a Class B drug.

- Community order with unpaid work
PC Paul Brewster of the Roads Policing Unit said: “Driving under the influence of drugs is one of the fatal four – a top cause of serious injury and fatal crashes.”
