Policeman Caught Exploiting Vulnerable Women on Duty

A Merseyside officer has been found guilty of shocking misconduct after bedding vulnerable women who had reported domestic and sexual abuse. Adam Hoyle, 39, used his position to exploit three victims he met while on duty.

Sex Abuse While Searching for Missing Person

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) revealed Hoyle had sex with one victim during a search for a high-risk missing person. Worse still, he even visited women while on official duty, using a police vehicle for some encounters. The misconduct dates back to at least October 2016.

Additional Charges for Hacking Police Systems

Hoyle also pleaded guilty to three counts of unauthorised access to computer material. He had previously tried to deny these serious charges. His sentencing is set for October 27 at Liverpool Crown Court.

IOPC Slams Officer’s ‘Disgusting Betrayal’

“There is absolutely no place in policing for officers who abuse their position for a sexual purpose,” said Catherine Bates of the IOPC. “PC Hoyle’s vile actions are a disgusting betrayal of the trust placed in officers by the public.”

This case shines a harsh spotlight on abuse of power within the force and will send shockwaves through Merseyside Police and beyond.
