A 29-year-old woman from Tower Hamlets has been locked up for five years after being caught with a firearm and ammunition. Joy Hyde-Coleman, of Blondin Street, east London, pleaded guilty in May and was sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 13 August.

Intelligence-Led Bust Uncovers Hidden Weapon
Met detectives acted swiftly after intelligence tipped them off about Hyde-Coleman’s firearm possession. A thorough investigation included reviewing 24 hours of CCTV footage and phone data to build a solid case.
Specialist officers raided her home in Bow, where they spotted her trying to chuck a black handgun from the bedroom. The weapon, several rounds of ammo, and multiple mobile phones were all recovered.
