Grandson Charged with Murder of 89-Year-Old Grandma in Thornton Heath
Tragedy struck in south London as 31-year-old Verushan Manoharan was charged with the murder of his 89-year-old grandmother, Sakunthala Francis.
Stabbing Shocks Quiet Neighbourhood
Sakunthala was found with fatal stab wounds at a home on Brigstock Road, Thornton Heath, at around 9.20pm on Tuesday. Emergency services rushed to the scene but she was pronounced dead.
Manoharan to Face Croydon Magistrates’ Court
Verushan Manoharan was formally charged on Wednesday evening and will appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
Family Support and Investigation Underway
