Murder probe launched after man stabbed to death in Hatfield

A man in his 20s was fatally stabbed in Hatfield this afternoon, sparking a major murder investigation.

Fatal Stabbing Near Parkhouse Court

Police were called at 1:11pm on Sunday (March 23) following reports of a violent incident near Parkhouse Court. Officers found the victim with serious stab wounds. Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Crime Scene Locked Down as Forensics Work

The Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, along with specialist teams, remain at the scene. Police have sealed off the area with cordons as forensic experts conduct detailed investigations.

No arrests have been made yet. Detectives are racing to identify the attacker or attackers involved.

Detective Chief Inspector Nick Gardner, leading the inquiry, said:

“Our investigation is continuing at pace, and I am urging anyone with information to please come forward. If you saw what happened or have any information that may assist our enquiries, please contact police. We appreciate this incident is concerning. Additional patrols are in the area. Please speak to our officers if you have any concerns. Our thoughts are with the man’s loved ones at this time.”
