Murder Probe Launched After Man Dies in Lincoln
Police in Lincoln have opened a murder investigation following the death of a 46-year-old man. The victim was admitted to hospital on Friday, June 14, with severe injuries to his head and body. Despite treatment, he died at 5:10pm BST on Sunday, June 16. His next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers.
Attack Believed to Have Happened in Frank Swaby Court
The brutal assault is thought to have taken place between noon and 4pm on Friday in Frank Swaby Court, off Newark Road in Lincoln city centre. Police are carrying out extensive inquiries in the area and have appealed to the public for information to help piece together what happened.
Detective Urges Public to Speak Up
Detective Inspector Andy McWatt, leading the investigation, said: “We know this news will be frightening and concerning for residents. We are treating this as a priority and need the public’s help. If you have any information, no matter how small or unsure you are about it, please come forward. Even the tiniest detail could be crucial.”
Six People Arrested, All Known to Victim
Since Friday, police have arrested six suspects in connection with the case — four between 28 and 33 years old, and two others today aged 32 and 36. All remain in custody for questioning. Authorities believe the victim knew the suspects.
Police Seek Witnesses and Footage
Officers are urging anyone who was near Frank Swaby Court during the afternoon of June 14, or who holds dash cam or mobile phone footage, to come forward.
