Hero Copper in Boxers Fights Off Jewellery Gang in Dead of Night!
Officer Wakes to Smash and Grab Mayhem
At around 3.30am on Friday, 31 May, a 29-year-old off-duty police officer was jolted awake by a racket near his home on Barnes High Street, SW13. Spotting a jewellers’ shop window smashed to bits, he realised a gang was trying to break in.
Brave Cop Charges Out in Just His Boxers
Without a second thought, the heroic officer rushed outside wearing only his boxers. He confronted the crooks head-on. In the chaos, one thug hurled a pickaxe at him, barely missing its mark. The officer snatched up the weapon and charged them, determined to stop the raid.
Thugs Flee, Leaving Weapons Behind
The gang of four made a swift getaway on mopeds but abandoned a haul of brutal tools, including a pickaxe, sledgehammer, and chisel. The jewellers’ window was damaged, but the robbers failed to get inside or pinch a single item.
Officer Injured but Unbowed
The officer suffered a cut to his foot from shards of glass but escaped serious harm thanks to his quick thinking and gutsy response.
