Whisky, Meat and Fuel Heist: Kent Man Busted for Shoplifting Spree
Kent Police have cracked down on theft after a savage 12-day shoplifting spree hit three local businesses between January 27 and February 7, 2023.
Billy Austin Nabbed and Charged
Billy Austin, 30, from Cavell Way, was arrested on February 7 following the theft probe. He now faces six counts of shoplifting and one count of fuel theft.
Swiped Goods and Fuel Worth Over £200
- Austin stole 15 bottles of whisky.
- He hid roughly £100 worth of meat in a plastic bag.
- He also filched £100+ in fuel after filling his car and two extra containers – then fled without paying.
Guilty Plea Lands Austin in Court
Austin admitted all charges at Medway Magistrates’ Court on February 8. He’s due back in court on February 24 for sentencing.
