Tragic Death on Dorset Road: Woman Killed in Lorry Crash

Dorset Police were called at 9:41am on Monday 16 November 2020 after a shocking road crash involving a pedestrian and a lorry on Lynch Lane. The pedestrian, identified as 62-year-old Sarah Lewis from Weymouth, sadly died at the scene.

Family Mourns, Offers Thanks

At the inquest opened on Friday 27 November 2020, Sarah’s identity was confirmed. Her family is receiving support from specially trained officers during this heartbreaking time.

The family expressed their gratitude to the emergency services and to brave witnesses who risked their own safety to comfort Sarah before first responders arrived.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Police Constable Leanne Steedman of the traffic unit said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and loved ones of Sarah Lewis at this difficult time.” She urged anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage to come forward.
