Knife Found Hidden in Shoe
The day before, officers from the Met’s Central South Violence Suppression Unit were on patrol in Southwark. They stopped and searched the teen, spotting a knife hidden in his footwear. He was arrested on the spot and charged immediately.
Police Praise Stop and Search Success
Inspector Paul Howlett of the Violence Suppression Unit said: “Our officers are out daily targeting violent crime. This arrest highlights how vital stop and search is for taking weapons off the streets. That knife could have seriously harmed someone if we hadn’t seized it.”
