Pub Brawl in Chalvington Ends with Tasers Fired and Injuries

Youths Turn Violent Outside Local Pub

Police are hunting witnesses after a violent scuffle erupted outside a pub in Chalvington, near Hailsham. The chaos began late on 5 September when a group of youths tried to enter the pub on Chalvington Road.

At 11.40pm, officers arrived following reports that one young man had pulled out a taser and aimed it at a crowd. Another suspect then fired a taser, injuring a woman caught in the crossfire.

Injuries Reported in Nighttime Mayhem

  • The female bystander suffered minor injuries.
  • An 18-year-old man was punched and sustained a cut to his eye.

Two Teens Arrested and Bailed

Police arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of possession of a weapon with intent to cause fear. A 16-year-old boy was also held over possession of a noxious gas weapon and assault charges. Both have been released on bail until 3 October.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Detective Constable Aretha Robinson said: “We are appealing for witnesses to this incident and would like to hear from anyone who may have filmed it or taken photos to come forward.”
