Two Thieves Snatch Ford Fiesta in Under Two Minutes – Caught on Camera!
Quickfire Crime Spree Hits Train Station Car Parks
Two crooks were caught on CCTV stealing a Ford Fiesta in less than two minutes during a massive spree involving 59 Fiesta thefts across the region.
Kaine Guest-Scott and Theon Lynch targeted vehicles parked at train station car parks, where commuters leave their cars before heading into work by rail.
High-Tech Theft Methods Exposed
The duo used transmitter devices to unlock the cars remotely. Once inside, they wielded angle grinders to smash steering locks and make a swift getaway. Their brazen daylight raids left victims returning to empty parking spots time and again.
Busted After Credit Card Slip-Up
The criminals were finally arrested in November 2022 after trying to nick another Fiesta from the 123 car park. They were caught red-handed on CCTV using a victim’s stolen credit card at a shop later that day.
Guest-Scott was arrested after jumping out of a window trying to dodge police, with Lynch following a week later.
Evidence Seals Their Fate
Police searched both their addresses and uncovered clothing matching what was worn in the CCTV along with their phones. After device analysis, on March 17, Guest-Scott was sentenced to four years and one month, while Lynch received three years in jail.
Sgt Mitch Darby of the Vehicle Crime Taskforce said: “This is a great result. Two prolific car thieves have been brought to justice and stopped from stealing any more cars.”
“They brazenly committed these crimes again and again in broad daylight, leaving victims stunned to find their cars gone.”
“The Vehicle Crime Taskforce was set up in response to rising car thefts across the West Midlands and remains committed to tackling this crime.”
“We always act on info from the public, so if something feels off, report it. Your tip-offs make all the difference.”
