Man Found Guilty of Mid-Flight Sexual Assault on London-Bound Plane
Pervert Creeps on Stranger During Red-Eye Flight
Momade Jussab, 66, has been convicted of sexually assaulting a woman while she slept on a Qatar Airways flight from Doha to London Gatwick last September. The victim, a complete stranger, woke to find Jussab molesting her as the cabin lights were dimmed and most passengers caught some shut-eye.
Swift Police Action After Shocking Incident
The woman reported the attack as soon as the plane touched down. Jussab, from Swinfield Close, Feltham, was swiftly arrested. He faced charges including assault by penetration and two counts of sexual assault. The trial at Lewes Crown Court ended with a guilty verdict on March 29, with sentencing scheduled for May.
Detective Praises Victim’s Courage
“This was a shocking incident and a crime which has a long-term impact on the victim and others like her. We were determined to get justice in this case and we are pleased with the verdict. We encourage all victims of sexual offences to come forward and report their experience to the police,” said Detective Constable Kate Bailey from the Crawley Safeguarding Investigations Unit.
