East Sussex Pianist Jailed for Brutal Attack on Boyfriend
A talented pianist from East Sussex has been locked up for seven years after stabbing her boyfriend in the groin and pouring bleach over his face when he turned down her advances.
Shocking Assault Unfolds in Hastings Flat
Marlena Meczynska-Shiibashi, 38, attacked her 50-year-old boyfriend at her Hastings flat. The violent rampage came after he refused to have sex with her. Prosecutors told Lewes Crown Court she waited until he fell asleep before dousing his face in bleach and stabbing his groin – narrowly missing his genitals.
The couple had a rocky, on-off relationship since 2011.
Victim’s Terrifying Ordeal
The victim described waking up blind and disoriented from bleach pouring over his face. He then realised he was bleeding from a stab wound in the groin. He fought back with a cardboard box, fleeing the flat naked and bleeding where his landlord found him.
Meczynska-Shiibashi later admitted she “wanted to harm his penis but missed” and pleaded guilty to wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Judge Slams Pianist as Manipulative Liar
The court heard she got “massively drunk and stoned” before the attack and tried to claim self-defence and historic abuse. But Judge Christine Laing KC branded her “a liar and a very manipulative person” who used false abuse claims to justify her violent act.
Besides the seven-year jail term, Meczynska-Shiibashi received an additional four years on extended licence and a lifetime restraining order banning contact with her ex.
