Jury Clears Murder, Cites Diminished Responsibility
At Lewes Crown Court, a jury acquitted Pietro of murder on March 3, ruling he had diminished responsibility at the time of Susan’s death. On May 5, he was handed a 15-year sentence — ten years behind bars plus five years on extended licence.

Detective Superintendent Mark Chapman of the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team called the case “tragic” and offered his condolences to the devastated Addis family. Susan was beloved in the Brighton and Hove community, known for her kindness and strength.
