13-Year-Old Boy Injured in Glass Bottle Attack on Southampton Bus

An evening bus ride turned violent for a 13-year-old boy in Southampton on Sunday, November 20, at around 5pm.

Bottle Thrown at Bus Window—Boy Hurt by Glass Shards

The youngster was sitting on a bus stopped at the Kendal Avenue stop, near the junction with Cuckmere Lane, when a gang of youths hurled a glass bottle at the window right beside him. The window shattered, sending shards of glass into the boy’s face and causing injuries.

Police Arrest Teen on GBH Charges as Investigation Continues

Authorities quickly arrested a 13-year-old boy from Southampton on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and criminal damage under £5,000. He has been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Witness Appeal after Shocking Bus Attack

Sgt Loraine Stockham from the Southampton West Neighbourhoods Policing Team said: “We believe the victim and the group were known to each other and that this was an isolated incident.”

“We know there were a number of witnesses, so I would encourage them to contact us with any information or mobile phone footage they might have.”

“Similarly, if anyone has dash cam, CCTV or ring doorbell footage, please get in touch.”
