Man Arrested After Threatening Meat Cleaver Incident in Gravesend

Kent Police have arrested a 53-year-old Gravesend man suspected of carrying an offensive weapon after a late-night disturbance at Perry Street and Wycliffe Row.

Threatening Behaviour Sparks Police Probe

At around 10.40pm on July 8, 2022, officers rushed to the scene following reports of a man waving what looked like a meat cleaver and acting threateningly. The suspect was detained the next morning but later released while the investigation continues.

Police Hunt Witnesses, Especially Four Pub-Goers

Detectives have reviewed CCTV footage and are now appealing to witnesses for vital information. They’re especially keen to hear from four people who had been drinking outside a nearby pub, including one who reportedly offered the suspect a cigarette.
