Nottinghamshire Police responded fast on 6 February 2022 after reports of violent disorder involving a group of Leicester City supporters. Witnesses saw windows shattered and furniture hurled outside the bar, sparking panic among the public ahead of the FA Cup tie between Nottingham Forest and Leicester City at the City Ground.
Eight Arrests and Counting
After two months of painstaking investigation, including detailed CCTV review, police have arrested eight suspects. Two more men, aged 24 and 36, were nabbed on 22 April on suspicion of violent disorder and released under investigation.
Earlier arrests include a 24-year-old man detained on 7 April. Several warrants were also executed across Leicestershire in March, leading to five suspects charged:
- Tyrone Smith, 37, Central Road, Leicester
- Craig Jones, 23, Arden Avenue, Leicester
- Przemyslaw Danik, 41, Rutland Street, Leicester
- Neil Munden, 53, Winforde Crescent, Leicester
- Craig Flint, 40, Whitwick, Leicestershire
Smith, Munden, and Flint pleaded guilty at Nottingham Crown Court on 19 April. Sentencing is expected in July. Danik and Jones are due in court on 26 April, yet to enter pleas.
