Man Charged After Shocking Assault on 19-Year-Old in Eastleigh

Police have arrested and charged a man following a serious attack on a 19-year-old woman in Eastleigh in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Attack in Leigh Road Park

The incident took place around 2:15am on 4 August in Leigh Road Park. The victim was rushed to Southampton General Hospital with soft tissue bruising after the savage assault.

Multiple Charges for Suspect

Jeremy Blake Simmons, 19, with no fixed address, faces charges of actual bodily harm, kidnap with intent to commit a sexual offence, and threats to kill linked to the attack on the young woman.

He’s also charged with robbery for a separate incident in Southampton’s East Park on 1 August. Police say Simmons snatched a handbag from a 24-year-old woman after speaking to her.

Custody and Court Appearance

Simmons has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Southampton Magistrates Court’s youth remand on Monday, 10 August.
