£150,000 Cash Seized at Port of Dover: Two Men Charged

Border Force Nab Huge Haul of Hidden Cash

Kent Police have charged two men after Border Force officers uncovered over £150,000 hidden inside two vehicles at the Port of Dover.

On Saturday 24 October 2020, around 6.30pm, officers stopped a van and a car leaving the UK. A thorough search revealed £110,000 tucked away in the van and a further £50,000 stashed in the car.

Suspects Arrested and Charged

Albert Murataj, 34, and Elton Allaraj, 30, both from Maidstone, were arrested on suspicion of concealing criminal property.

The pair appeared at Medway Magistrates Court on Monday 26 October and were released on bail.

Next Court Date Set

The men are due back in court at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 23 November 2020 as investigations continue.
