Football Fracas Flare-Up at Nottingham Pub
Chaos erupted at The Cross Keys pub in Nottingham’s Lace Market when Leicester City and Nottingham Forest fans clashed in a midday brawl. Police were called after bottles and street furniture were hurled during the violent disorder on 6 February 2022, just hours before the big FA Cup showdown at the City Ground.

According to reports, a group of Leicester City supporters sparked the trouble by arguing with Nottingham Forest fans inside the packed pub on Byard Lane. Tempers boiled over, leading to a destructive scene amid the busy city centre crowd — potentially putting families and children at risk.
Two Men Charged as Police Hunt More Troublemakers
After poring over CCTV footage, Nottinghamshire Police have charged two men with violent disorder. Craig Flint, 41, from Silver Street, Leicestershire, and Gary Franks, 52, of Amanda Road, Leicester, face court on 7 July 2022 at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court.
Investigator Victoria Batterham said: “This incident took place in the middle of the day and in a busy part of the city centre where young children could’ve been present at the time. Nottinghamshire Police takes all reports of violence extremely seriously and will never tolerate any incidents of this nature.”
