Polish Lorry Driver Busted for People Smuggling at Dover
A Polish lorry driver has been arrested and charged in a major people smuggling probe. Robert Miroslaw Wojcik, 48, from Warsaw, was caught by National Crime Agency (NCA) officers as he arrived at the port of Dover on Tuesday. The Border Force backed the operation.
Mass Migrant Smuggling Plot Foiled
Wojcik faces charges connected to an attempt to smuggle 123 migrants into the UK. The case forms part of a wider crackdown on organised crime groups trafficking people into Britain.
NCA Cracks Down on Ruthless Smuggling Gangs
“People smuggling gangs put lives at risk for profit. Tackling this is a top priority,” said Mark Howes, NCA Branch Commander. “This investigation is just one of around 90 active cases targeting these criminal networks.”
The NCA is determined to disrupt and dismantle the gangs running these dangerous smuggling operations across the country.
