Portsmouth Pedophile Teacher Jailed for 12 Years After Schoolgirl Sex Abuse
A former schoolteacher in Portsmouth has been locked up for 12 years for sexually abusing pupils between 2007 and 2013. Sean Jack Aldridge, once a trusted Warblington School teacher in Havant, was found guilty of 25 counts of child sex offences, including abusing his position of trust.
Teacher Preyed on Pupils Over Six Years
Aldridge’s crimes involved four schoolgirls who were under his care. The jury heard chilling details during the three-week trial at Portsmouth Crown Court. Although they couldn’t decide on two other charges, Aldridge, 37, of Edmund Road, Southsea, was handed a hefty prison sentence and placed on the sex offenders register.
Police Praise Victims’ Bravery in Breaking Silence
“Children expect to be safe at school, but Aldridge betrayed that trust,” said Detective Inspector Toby Elcock.
“He groomed young girls into a twisted sexual relationship and tried to silence them for years. Even when contacted by police in 2010 and 2012, the girls felt too scared to speak out.”
“Thanks to their courage today, justice has been served. Our Operation Marmion team worked tirelessly to bring this vile predator to book. We hope this verdict helps other victims find the strength to come forward.”
Speak Up If You’ve Been Abused
The police are encouraging anyone affected by child sexual abuse to contact them confidentially on 101. Specialist detectives are ready to listen and support victims looking for justice.
